Prof. Apoorvanand Jha is a professor at the Hindi Department of the University of Delhi. An avowed secularist, he also writes in English and is known for his frequent interventions in day-to-day politics, and for being a tireless champion of minority rights. He is one of the most vocal critics of the Sangh Parivar in the Hindi belt.
Purwa Bhardwaj (wife of Prof. Apoorvanand) is an educationist, a gender activist and trainer. A strong advocate of women's education especially for women from minority groups and other marginalized groups, Ms. Bhardwaj has edited a book "Hum Khavateen" (We the Women) that voices the trials and tribulations of Muslim women, their dreams, aspirations and identity in post-Partition India.
