New Delhi, July 7 (IANS) The runway of FDCI India Couture Week (ICW) 2016 will platform the fashion statement of 11 couturiers, who will showcase their collections at the five-day event through 10 shows here.
The fashion gala is slated to take place from July 20-24 at the Taj Palace hotel here. There will be three offsite shows, said a statement issued on behalf of the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) — the country’s apex fashion body that organises the event.
FDCI President Sunil Sethi said: “The five-day fiesta will be a spectacle of ebullient ensembles, grand sets and riveting concepts as well as off-site shows, by leading designers. It will be a tribute to luxury and will pen a new story of grandeur in keeping with the aesthetics of Indian traditions.”
Ace fashion designer Manish Malhotra will open the fashion gala. It will also mark the first time that fashion designers Tarun Tahiliani and Anita Dongre will showcase at the platform ever since the event shifted to the capital city in 2010. It was earlier held in Mumbai.
Other participating designers include names like Reynu Taandon, Rahul Mishra, Anamika Khanna, Varun Bahl, Gaurav Gupta and Manav Gangwani.
Rohit Bal will be closing the fashion event.
