We hear it could have something to do with missing the award!
Sanjay Leela Bhansali threw a grand party at a suburban restaurant to celebrate his happiness over winning the National Award for Bajirao Mastani. While all Bollywood, including his leading actors like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor, Shah Rukh Khan etc. turned up to congratulate him, one person conspicuous by her absence was Bhansali’s Mastani Deepika Padukone. An invitee says, “She was back in India for a day, the day the National Awards were announced, before returning to shoot for her Hollywood film. She expressed her inability to be present at the party due to a prior commitment,” though we’ve heard the alleged reason for her absence is something else.
A source reveals in Bollywood Life, “She was really hurt by the National Awards snub. She had won all the popular awards for her performance in Piku and Bajirao Mastani. She expected the National Award too. When it didn’t happen she lost her appetite to celebrate with her Bajirao Mastani team.”
We hear that Raveer Singh too was upset over not winning the best actor National Award for Bajirao, but he is too much of a good sport to not celebrate someone else’s success.
