There have been a number of reports doing the rounds about whether Ranveer Singh will be a part of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati. There were reports that the director was upset with Ranveer when he asked for a script reading. But Ranveer was recently spotted at Bhansali’s office signaling that all is well between the two.
According to a report in BollywoodLife.com, the actor is on board as Alauddin Khilji, the ruler of the Khilji dynasty who was obsessed with Padmavati, the queen of Chittor played by Deepika Padukone. Ranveer has apparently been growing his beard for the role. He has allegedly been told to keep at least 200 days for the shoot.
The film will be shot at Film City Studios in Goregaon. A source was quoted saying, “While filming Bajirao Mastani, Ranveer stayed at a luxury hotel on the highway which was a few minutes away from the sets. He had also bought a spacious apartment in one of the highrises, which was being done up. Now that’s complete and the actor will shift there once Padmavati goes on the floors.”
