A Tragic Loss Felt Across the Diaspora: Remembering Anunay Sood

The global Indian diaspora is mourning the sudden and heartbreaking loss of 32-year-old travel influencer and photographer Anunay Sood, whose untimely death on November 6, 2025, in a Las Vegas hotel shocked not only his family and friends but also his 1.4 million followers who admired his adventurous lifestyle.

Sood, a Dubai resident celebrated for his breathtaking travel content, had flown to the United States to attend the Las Vegas Concours 2025, an event he had been actively updating his followers about. He was staying at the luxurious Wynn Las Vegas when tragedy struck.

When Sood did not wake up, first responders were rushed to the room. Despite immediate life-saving efforts, he remained unresponsive and was later declared dead.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD), preliminary findings suggest that Sood may have died due to a possible overdose. Their report, based on witness interrogation, notes that Sood and those accompanying him had attempted to “obtain some narcotics” from a local peddler. He and his roommate allegedly purchased cocaine in the early hours of the day. While the woman woke up shortly after consuming it, Sood never did.

Toxicology results and the coroner’s final report are still awaited.
