Did Deepika Padukone Replace Anushka Sharma in Tamasha?

 

Imtiaz Ali‘s Tamasha starring Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor had its fair share of appreciation as well as criticism but it has now emerged that Anushka Sharma was the first choice for the film.
According to a report, Open Magazine revealed that Anushka Sharma was first considered for the movie but she allegedly thought the role wasn’t “meaty” enough for her.
Apparently, the role didn’t impress the actress at all as she felt it wasn’t lengthy enough as it was primarily Ranbir’s film. This is when Deepika apparently stepped in and agreed to be a part of the film. 
Anushka and Ranbir were first seen in Bombay Velvet together and will be seen in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, later this year.
