The 69th edition of the Filmfare Awards were held in Gujarat’s Gandhinagar on Sunday night. Karan Johar and Maniesh Paul co-hosted the star-studded awards night, which honoured talent that shone through in the past year in Bollywood. At the Filmfare Awards 2024, Alia Bhatt and Vikrant Massey were among the top award winners.

Star couple Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor stole the show at the Filmfare Awards 2024 as they won the top honours in acting. Alia Bhatt won the fourth Filmfare Award of her career. She won the Best Actor in a Leading Role (Female) trophy for her performance in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. Ranbir Kapoor won the Best Actor Award in a Leading Role (Male) for Animal.

The Filmfare Award for Best Film was given to Vikrant Massey starrer 12th Fail, directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Chopra won the Best Director and Best Screenplay awards for the film. This marked his return to film direction after many years. The film was a sleeper hit of 2023 and proved to do very well at the box office through positive word of mouth. The award for Best Actor (Critics) went to Vikrant Massey for 12th Fail.

The award for Best Actress (Critics) went to Shefali Shah for Three Of Us. In the Critics category, Rani Mukerji too won Best Actress for Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway. The Filmfare Award for Best Film (Critics) was given to Joram.

The award for Best Story was given to Amit Rai for OMG 2 and Devashish Makhija for Joram at the 69th Filmfare Awards.

The award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Female) was given to Shabana Azmi for Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. Vicky Kaushal won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Male) for Dunki.

The award for Best Playback Singer (Male) as given to Bhupinder Babbal for Arjan Vailly from the film Animal, while Shilpa Rao won the Best Playback Singer (female) trophy for Besharam Rang from Pathaan.

Director David Dhawan was conferred with the Lifetime Achievement Award this year. Actor Aditya Rawal won the award for Best Debut (Male) for Faraaz.
