The film is reportedly one of the most expensive films to be made in Bollywood
Ashutosh Gowariker’s Mohenjo Daro is one of the most-awaited films this year. But, according to a report in SpotboyE.com, it’s also one of the most expensive ones to hit the screens.
One of the reasons for its massive budget is that reportedly the film was shot in multiple locations. It was first shot in Bhuj, then in Naigaon and then again in Bhuj, where a set was built over an area of 2.5 km.
The report quoted sources who said that the constant to and fro incurred a lot of expenses, which exceeded expectation.
Furthermore, Hrithik’s leg injury apparently made the situation worse.
A source was quoted saying, “The film’s initial budget was Rs 150 crore, but it ended up costing almost double because of Hrithik getting injured. His surgeries delayed the shoot, thus causing a lot of loss for the producers. The actor had refused to shoot in Bhuj after his surgery as the temperature there had reached 48 degrees, so they had to shift the location to Naigaon. It’s only after he recovered that he agreed to shoot in Bhuj again.”
The shoot was allegedly completed over a period of 262 days!
