The actress is proud to represent India on a global platform
In a recent interview, Priyanka Chopra had a candid chat about all the success she has received after pursuing projects in the West. Her act in the American TV series Quantico has made her a force to reckon with in the industry. It was also announced recently that PC is the world’s 8th highest paid TV actress.
She was quoted saying, “For me, it’s never been about getting more money. I get paid for what I do. I work bloody hard and I believe I deserve what I get paid. This fame that comes along with it is a bonus.”
PC added, “For me, it’s about pushing my boundaries where I can create a space for myself, which is aspirational for people around the world. When I went to school in America, there was no Indian on TV or in films unless you were playing a two-scene role in a movie. That’s all Indian actors were reduced to. I am so happy that when I walk on to the Oscars, I represent my country. When they put me on the covers of their magazines, it’s me as the Quantico actor. I’m Indian, I’m not even Indian American. I’m so glad to be able to put a face to all the Indian girls, who probably don’t see the representation of Indian people in the global arena.”
