Inaamul Haq – The Actor Who Follows His Heart

Meet the brilliantly versatile Inaamul Haq, a powerhouse of talent in Bollywood. Hailing from Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, and an alumnus of the prestigious National School of Drama, Inaamul Haq took to the stage at the young age of 12. He honed his craft with the Indian People’s Theatre Association, performing lead roles in numerous plays before stepping into the world of film and television.

After moving to Mumbai, he began his career as a writer for TV shows and served as a Creative Consultant for the hit comedy series Comedy Circus. He transitioned into films with dialogue writing for Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap (2011), while continuing to nurture his acting passion.

His film journey began with a role in the critically acclaimed Firaaq (2008), but it was his performance in Filmistaan (2014) that brought him into the limelight. Portraying a Pakistani national, he earned widespread acclaim and was named one of the Top 10 Stand-Out Actors of 2014 by Mid-Day, and listed among IBNLive’s Most Prominent Debuts of the Year.

Inaamul Haq further impressed audiences with his intense portrayal of Major Khalaf Bin Zayd in Airlift, starring Akshay Kumar. He has also been seen in Jolly LLB 2, Lucknow Central, and Firangi, each time leaving a strong mark with his compelling performances.

The most prominent role he played in the award-winning film Nakkash and Airlift. However, despite widespread critical acclaim for his powerful performance in Akshay Kumar starrer Airlift, Inaamul Haq did not receive any award recognition that year — a disappointment that still lingers for the actor.

Inaamulhaq made his mark in Bollywood with the National Award-winning film “Filmistaan” (2014), where he was loved for his powerful role.

In 2019, he played the lead in the film “Nakkash”, which told a strong social story. Though it had a limited release, it was well-received and even showcased at the Cannes Film Festival’s India Pavilion.
