India Polo Team to compete in the “Sport of Kings” at Boston Polo Club

The world’s oldest team sport will “stirrup” excitement in this international polo match June 1st!

Event Summary: The members of the India Polo Team ride into Boston Polo Club for an exhilarating polo match that will combine speed, adrenaline, and tradition both on and off the field. The oldest polo clubs in the world are in Jaipur and Calcutta, and polo has been played in Massachusetts since 1890. On June 1st, members of Jaipur Polo and Boston Polo will meet for a competitive match and a celebration of community through sport. Boston Polo hopes to continue to build international camaraderie through polo and forge new connections with new players and supporters in the Greater Boston Area and beyond.

Human Interest: At age 14, Rehan Kumble is an up-and-coming polo star on the New England Polo circuit. His parents hail from Bengaluru, and Rehan represents the theme of “your history, my history, our history”, by being an Indian-American player who has trained with Boston Polo but who will proudly play with the India team for this match. Rehan is currently an 8th grader at the Pike School in Andover, and he dreams of playing polo competitively in college and beyond.

Where: Boston Polo Club, 240 Andover Street, Georgetown MA 01833
When: June 1st, 2019. Gates open at 3 pm, Match starts at 4 pm. Trophy Presentation following the match.

Individual guests and groups are welcome to join us in our VIP Boxes, VIP Pavilion, Tailgate Section, or in the general admission section. Food and drink are available for sale, and guests are also welcome to bring their own. Prior reservations required for VIP Boxes and VIP pavilion tabled seating areas alongside the match. Family friendly, leashed dogs welcome, opportunities to meet the players and our horses. Children under 12 are free.
