Ishaan Chhabra nominated for Emmy Award for “Outstanding music Production”

Indian origin parent’s (Rajnish Chhabra) son Ishaan Chhabra from dream team nominated for prestigious Emmy Awards for “Outstanding Music Direction” of Momentum Generation. It is a proud moment for the Indians. These days we can proudly see that Indian origin parents and thier kids reaching high in many fields if not in every field of life. This will be a proud moment for the parent and the Indians that yet another nomination they got it. 

Alongside Chhabra’s projects with Rahman, he has gradually built a body of work. In addition to Children of War, he has scored the films: Budhia Singh: Born to Run and Omerta. The Hollywood Reporter called the score to the latter “thrilling and portentous.” Another film he scored, the National

His life and Musical journey;

A graduate in Electronic Music Production and Sound Design from Berklee College of Music in Boston, Ishaan Chhabra’s musical journey as a professional started when he was all of twelve and has established a unique identity in the international music and film industry – whether it is Los Angeles, Mumbai or Chennai.

Ishaan’s musical talent has found its voice in scoring for visual media. He started off composing for several short films such as Dilli and Timbuktu. His first feature film – Children of War was released in May 2014 to critical success. In 2016, Ishaan composed for the movie Budhia Singh: Born to Run, which received acclaim for its score and went on to receive the National Award for Best Children’s Film. In 2017, he scored Hansal Mehta’s Omerta, which was selected for the Toronto Film Festival. He has also composed commercials for Renault, Intel, History Channel, Škoda, 7 Up, Qube Digital, NAC and XPloders among many.

As a sound designer for Boston-based Sonivox (A division of InMusic Brands), Ishaan created commercially successful virtual sound samples and instruments. He also collaborated with Jason Jordan of Octavia Productions (some of their clients include the likes of Anthem, BBC, Coca Cola, MGM, Deepak Chopra, and Game Station) in music production and sound design projects. It was while working at Sonivox that Ishaan got an opportunity to work with Academy award-winning composer A.R. Rahman.

Ishaan’s work with Mr. Rahman as music producer and programmer includes Disney’s Million Dollar Arm, Dreamworks’ The Hundred Foot Journey, Majid Majidi’s Muhammad: The Messenger of God, Imagine Entertainment’s Pelé: Birth of a Legend, Gurinder Chadha’s Viceroy’s House, and several Hindi and Tamil film projects including Highway, Mom, Kochadaiiyaan, OK Kanmani, Tamasha, and Mohenjo Daro.
