JUST IN: Asha Parekh returns home from hospital

Mumbai, September 21, 2016: Yesteryear actress and former CBFC (Central Board for Film Certification) chief Asha Parekhis currently recuperating from a bout of illness. The actress, on August 31, was wheeled into a suburban hospital following acute stomach pain and vomiting. She was diagnosed with a stone in the gall bladder and her pancreas were swollen too. After six days, the actress returned home earlier this month. She’s recovering, but weakness persists. When contacted, Asha confirmed the news, saying, “I had been hospitalised. I am much better now but I’m still quite weak. I was consuming only water for a few days when I was in the hospital. After the scans, the doctors couldn’t find the stone in the bladder, which means it’s gone for now. Three months later, another set of scans will be conducted. And if they don’t find anything worrisome, I won’t have to go in for a surgery. But if the stone is found again, then an operation will follow.”
