Karisma Kapoor Sues Husband and Mother-in-Law For Dowry Harassment!

Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor and husband Sunjay Kapur’s divorce proceeding have taken another ugly turn after he last accused the Kapoor family for only being interested in his money. Now Karisma has filed an FIR against Sunjay and his mother Rani alleging them of Dowry Harassment and Domestic Violence.

 

According to a report in a leading tabloid, an FIR has been registered under section 498(A) (husband or the relatives of a woman subjecting her to cruelty) and 34 (common intent) of the India Penal Code.

 

An official told a leading daily, “The complaint was given on behalf of the actress by her lawyer last week. The statements of the two accused in the complaint will be recorded and depending on what the probe concludes, action will be taken. We are not looking at arresting anybody immediately,” the officer added.

 

Karisma’s lawyer Sanjog S Parab confirmed the same and informed the same leading newspaper, “We have filed an application last week for mental harassment and cruelty against the two.” 

 

Another report said, that Karisma has filed a domestic violence case and also demanded more than Rs. 10 lakh a month for her two children. She hit back at Sunjay’s allegations through her petition and “she was not here for money and that she has been a victim of mental harassment.” She has further stated that, Sunjay despite being married to her, has been residing with another woman and her child in their Delhi house.
