Katrina Kaif says Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara has ‘possibility of amazing sequel’: ‘All of us are always asking Zoya Akhtar’

Katrina Kaif received a lot of appreciation for her role in Zoya Akhtar’s Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and even after 12 years, the fans are hoping for a sequel of the much-loved film. In a recent chat at the Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah, Katrina said that ZNMD would make for “an amazing sequel” and said that she has asked Zoya to make a sequel of the film.

“All of us are always asking Zoya that make a sequel. Sequels should not be made for the sake of it. It has to earn it. It has to deserve a story being told. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara is one of the films that has the possibility of a an amazing sequel,” she said. Katrina is announced as one of the leads of Jee Le Zaraa, also starring Priyanka Chopra and Alia Bhatt, which will be directed by Farhan Akhtar and has been described as a road trip film with three friends, pretty much like ZNMD.

Zoya also recently spoke about the sequel of ZNMD while promoting her upcoming film The Archies. She told ANI that she doesn’t want to make a sequel just for the money. “That movie meant a lot to us. So, if we find that soul for part two, we will make it. We don’t want to do it just for money. When the audience comes to watch the second part, they will have a certain expectation, and we must give it to them; otherwise, they won’t be happy,” she said.

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara was a coming-of-age film starring Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol, Farhan Akhtar, Kalki Koechlin and Naseeruddin Shah. The film followed three friends as they get together for a bachelor trip across Spain and iron out their differences.
