Mumbai, Aug 27 (IANS) Filmmaker Shoojit Sircar, known for his content-driven films, says these days non-commercial films are commercial films and they are cliche films. Would he call his next film “Pink” a commercial or non-commercial one? “I think these days, non-commercial films are commercial films and commercial films are cliche films. I think there is no such bracket for my films. All my films are content-driven and this film (‘Pink’) is a thrilling film,” Sircar told IANS.
Directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, “Pink” is a thriller-based film set in Delhi. It will see Amitabh Bachchan as a lawyer. Sircar also shared that his films are completely offbeat.
“I have nothing against commercial films because there is an audience for them. I hardly watch commercial films but I have nothing against them. My films are completely offbeat. There is an audience for both kind of films,” said the “Vicky Donor” fame director.
