Mumbai, June 8 (IANS) Stylist Pernia Qureshi is happy that her friend, actress Sonam Kapoor, will be the showstopper at her first solo show in Mumbai.
Qureshi launches her ‘Amrapali’ line on Thursday — incidentally, that’s Kapoor’s birthday, too. “Sonam is a very special friend of mine, and I am happy to announce that she will be walking the ramp for me as a showstopper for my first stand-alone fashion show,” Qureshi said in a statement.
The details of what the Khoobsurat star will wear are not out yet.
Qureshi, who made her Bollywood acting debut in director Muzaffar Ali’s Jaanisaar last year, will be showcasing her festive collectionAmrapali, which takes inspiration from a 1966 film of the same name set in the ancient empire of Magadha.
Qureshi has in the past worked as a costume designer for Bollywood: she was responsible for the ensembles in Aisha, which featured Kapoor.
