Los Angeles, Dec 6 (IANS)  The release date of upcoming action-comedy film Baywatch, which marks the Hollywood debut of Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra, has been pushed back by a week. It will now release on May 26, the start of the Memorial Day holiday weekend, Paramount Pictures has announced.
The film will now release alongside Johnny Depp’s Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man Tell No Tales and Rebecca Ferguson and Jake Gyllenhaal’s Life on the start of the Memorial Day holiday weekend, reports variety.com.
Director Seth Gordon is directing the movie reboot of the 1990s television series Baywatch which also features Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron, Alexandra Daddario, Kelly Rohrbach, Ilfenesh Hadera, Jon Bass, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson.
Bollywood actor Priyanka Chopra had recently shared the Thanksgiving special Baywatch poster with the other cast members. The poster read, “We will give you something to be thankful for.” Earlier, on the occasion of Halloween and American Independence Day, the actor had shared new posters.
PeeCee, who journey from being a Miss World to ruling Bollywood, making her international debut with American show Quantico, and now moving to Hollywood, has been quite remarkable. In a recent interview, Priyanka had said whatever she has achieved is due to her own hard work, “without the help and support of anybody else”.
“I started with nothing, no support. A complete newcomer to even Mumbai city, not even the movie industry. I didn’t even know anyone. So I kind of did all that I did on my own without the help and support of anybody. The love and affection I have got from audiences around the world kind of gave me the strength to do that. They have put me in a position where I am used to being the face on a poster. I don’t want to settle for that,” she said.
