Mumbai Oct 26: While Ranveer Singh may be an actor par excellence, in the last few years, the actor was spoken more for his fashion choices. His colourful outfits and flamboyant sense of style made headlines and there’s no doubt that he carried them all with immense élan. However, Ranveer has now decided to ditch that fashion and stick to classier, monotone kind of looks. Here’s how he decided that.

Ranveer had appeared on ‘Koffee With Karan 8’ with Deepika Padukone. Talking about it, he confessed that he once read in his bio somewhere that ‘Ranveer Singh is an Indian film actor, also known for his unique fashion choices.’ It made him wonder, when did that happen? The actor thought he should be known more for his acting and characters. He further credited his wife and said, “Actually, Deepika pointed that out one day, when we were having a conversation. She said that you come off as a supremely confident person, but you’re actually underconfident. You should stop distracting people from who you are with all these flashy clothes and that really resonated with me.”

Post that, he once walked into Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s office wearing all black. Here’s how Bhansali reacted. “I went to meet Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and I was wearing all black that day, and he told me, ‘You’re looking amazing. Because of the monochrome, your face is coming out more. You must keep this going,'” shared Ranveer.

The ‘Ram Leela’ actor further added that he always listens to what Bhansali says which further made him ditch flashy clothes. Ranveer revealed that it was Bhansali who advised him to keep facial hair and not always be clean-shaven.
