Mumbai, Aug 27 (IANS) Actor Shahid Kapoor’s mother Neelima Azeem says she always wanted a granddaughter and feels absolutely blessed as her first grandchild is a girl. “This is the first baby. I am a new grandmother. This is a new phase and I can’t explain how it feels like. I really wanted a granddaughter, so I am absolutely thrilled and I feel so blessed. I have two sons and now I have a granddaughter,” Neelima told IANS.
Shahid and his wife Mira Rajput were blessed with a daughter on Friday evening. The actor even took to Twitter to share the news with his fans and friends.
Neelima said: “I thank everybody for their wishes and support. Both mother and daughter are doing fine and my granddaughter looks absolutely gorgeous. Their parents are so happy. It’s the fourth generation.”
Shahid Kapoor and wife Mira Rajput became proud parents to their first child, a baby girl on Friday. The girl was born at the Hinduja hospital in Khar around eight in the evening. Both mother and child are said to be doing well and in a healthy condition. Shahid himself took to Twitter to confirm the happy news. Mira was admitted to the hospital on August 24 ahead of her delivery to the Hinduja Healthcare Surgical Hospital in suburban Khar.
Earlier the child was expected to be born sometime around mid-September. A hospital source said the delivery was normal and the mother, as well as the child, were doing fine. Sources also suggest that both the mother and daughter will be discharged within a couple of days. Shahid, who has been around his wife all through and taking special care about her delivery, is no doubt a happy father now.
