SANJAY DUTT BIOPIC. IS BOLLYWOOD FASCINATED BY CRIMINAL LIFE STORIES?

29th June saw the release of most awaited film of 2018, SANJU in theaters and as expected, it BROKE all the records becoming the HIGHEST FIRST DAY GROSSER OF INDIAN CINEMA EVER! But as it shows the life story of a criminal and most controversial actor, a new question cropped up that WHY A BIOPIC ON SANJU? Is Bollywood only fascinated and glorifying criminals? My views on the same.

The year of 1975. A man who had seen a series of nearly 11 flops got national stardom with Zanjeer and became ANGRY young man of cinema! Mr Amitabh Bachchan! Yash Chopra made DEEWAR in 1975 and the film got immense commercial and critical acclaim! Amitabh BAchchan character was widely regarded as his career best at that point of time and still everyone loves and adores the film! Did anyone at that point thought it is life story of HAJI MASTAN? Peter chaabi mere paas hai! This was real one somewhat which had happened in HAJIs life in reality, Haji was also a coolie before becoming most biggest smuggler. Amitabh and Yash ji had himself met HAJI MASTAN to understand the character ( It is rumored ). Still Deeewar is regarded as all time classic of Yash Chopra.

BBC had done a poll in year 2000 about the MOST ENTERTAINING AND BEST FILM OF TILL MILLENUIM! The first number film was SHOLAY! But does anyone know which was second? It was Mani Ratnams All time classic NAYAKAN! Nayakan is regarded as Kamal Hasaans one of the best performance and he also got National Award for it. Still people consider this film as Mani Ratnams best! NAYAKAN was based on Dharavi don VARDHARAJAN. Did anyone oppose at that time?

Dawood Ibrahim is one of the most sought after person as far as his biopic or stories are concerned! Once upon a time in Mumbai ( part 1 and 2 ), D, D DAY, etc . Even we had Haseena Parker a film on Dawoods sister. Did anyone oppose? NO.

The above are just very few examples of biopics on wrong side people of law and public still made these films a hit ( somewhere flop too ) . So does Bollywood has scarcity of good biopics or good stories so it takes this path? The answer is BIG NO!

The problem with Indian so called mahaan Gyaani public ( which is very few ) is that they are hypocrites! Hamare bachche kya seekhenge Sanju se? So EVERYONE who saw deewar, nayakan should have become smugglers and dons, right? Where were you when Deewar was made? Did anyone become smuggler after watching it? The truth is COMMERCIAL CINEMA IS FOR ENTERTAINMENT! Aaam Aadmi is enough Matured ! And each film on these people teaches only one thing! CRIME NEVER PAYS! Common man is NOT AT ALL CONCERNED with reality! If the film is good it will work irrespective of its genre! If every biopic on gangster was good then why haseena parker flopped? As it was a BAD movie! Has RAJKUMAR HIRANI come to your house and begged you ke bhai please SANJU dekhne jao! Warna mujhe bura lagega! The film SANJU is working NOT ONLY BECAUSE OF SANJAY DUTT, but more because IT IS WELL MADE COMPLETE ENTERTAINER MOVIE WITH PERFECT CASTING AND GREAT SCREENPLAY! Mindwell, PUBLIC KO AAP ULLU NAHI BANA SAKTE!

Many say, aur kuch kaam nahi ke in logo biopics banate ho? WE all have witnessed what happened to Bhansali this year! WITHOUT EVEN SEEING A SCENE, THE FILM WAS MADE NATIONAL ISSUE! Are we so illiterate? When bollywood makes historical , GREAT MAHAAAN GYAAANI HISTORIANS COME OUT OF THEIR SHELL TO RIDICULE THEM. Every film has caption IT IS A PART OF FICTION , then why our asses are on fire? TO KYA KARE FILMMAKERS??????? RACE 3 banate rahe? To kehete hai aisi films hit kyu hoti hai? ACCEPT THAT PROBLEM LIES IN US ! ARE ALL THE CRORES OF PEOPLE WHO MADE SANJU CROSS 100 CRORES in just 4 days fool????? NO FOOLS ARE SO CALLED MAHAAN GYAANI IDIOTS WHO WILL NOT WATCH THE FILM AND TROLL IT ILLOGICALLY! SANJU does not glorify SANJAY DUTT in any case! In fact, people will learn WHAT NOT TO DO MISTAKE IN LIFE!

FINAL WORD: CINEMA IS CINEMA ONLY FOR 3 HOURS NONSTOP ENTERTAINMENT! THERE ARE ONLY GOOD FILM AND BAD FILMS! GOOD FILMS WILL WORK AND BAD WONT IRRESPECTIVE OF ITS GENRE OR KIND.
