The young star who floored us all with Highway, 2 States and Kapoor and Sons has now taken on the challenges of portraying a young Bihari migrant addicted to substances in the controversial film Udta Punjab.
So at recent press meet, when a journalist asked Alia Bhatt about the criticism she drew from certain people about her portrayal of a Bihari girl and how they feel that her lingo was incorrect, guess who jumped to Alia’s rescue?
Well, it was none other than co-star Shahid Kapoor who rightly said, “You should not to judge the film just by watching the trailer. We request you to make comments after watching the whole two-hour film. You should see how a glamorous looking Alia did a non-glamorous role. She must have seen something in it (the role) and only then said yes.”
