If there’s anyone who’s constantly had their back for Katrina Kaif, that’s Salman Khan. The duo has collaborated on multiple blockbusters, including Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, and Partner. But the superstar once lost his cool over his leading lady not getting any awards. Scroll below for all he had to say.

There’s no denying that Katrina is one of the most hardworking actresses in Bollywood. She’s come a long way from being criticized for her dance moves in Khwab Dekhe (Race) to delivering chartbusters like Chikni Chameli and Kamli. Her acting chops and Hindi accent have also drastically improved.

Salman Khan says Katrina Kaif deserves a national award!

During an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Salman Khan was asked about a movie for which Katrina Kaif received the Best Actress nomination. The superstar got offended and responded that it was a “ridiculous question” because his Tiger 3 co-stars deserved to win awards instead of mere nominations. He also declared that Kat deserves a national award.

Salman Khan added, “I don’t want to answer this question because these award functions, if they are nominating her.. first of all I believe wo nomination ke paise aane chahiye. Uske upar se utna unka publicity hoti hai, award function ke liye, telecast ke liye. Aur fir koi aur wo award leke jata hai, it’s not fair na? It’s not fair!”

During the conversation, Salman also took a dig at actresses who perform in return for getting an award at the ceremony.

Salman Khan & Katrina Kaif were uncomfortable during Ek Tha Tiger sets

Meanwhile, Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif are currently making noise over Kabir Khan‘s recent revelation about the Ek Tha Tiger shoot. The director claims the actors weren’t comfortable on the sets of the action film because they had just broken up.

Many wouldn’t know, but Katrina Kaif was first signed as Zoya, and the makers later approached Salman Khan to play the leading role of Tiger.

More about the Tiger franchise

YRF’s spy universe began with Ek Tha Tiger. The franchise is a massive success, garnering around 1345.12 crores at the worldwide box office.
