‘Who can enforce curfew better, leopard or police’

BDC News

Chandigarh, April 2  Chandigarh Adviser Manoj Parida has asked the people that who can enforce the curfew better, leopard or police?

At his tweet, a city resident replied: “None can stop the 4 aunties in my sector from going on their evening walk post sunset.”

Parida replied spontaneously by saying, “Expose them by clicking their pics and circulating.”

At this, another resident said that kindly put stamp on the hand of such people saying: “Not to be entertained in any healthcare facility for next 14 days.”

Another one joined by saying, “The stamp should be on their forehead”.

Parida’s remark came days after a leopard strayed into a plush residential area in Chandigarh on March 30, triggering panic among people.

The feline was trapped by forest officials after hectic efforts of over five hours. The next day forest official spotted pugmarks of a leopard in another sector.

With the tighter restrictions around social movement in the city to contain coronavirus, Chandigarh, ringed around the Sukhna Wildlife Sanctuary, is getting its guests out of woods.

Residents are spotting herds of the nilgai or the blue bull and the sambar, a large deer, strolling late in the evening in residential localities near the Sukhna Lake.
