While Kangana Ranaut is notorious for her explosive social media posts, the Bollywood actor also occasionally uses the virtual space to heap praise on films that impress her.

The latest movie to have captured the Queen actor’s heart is Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s biographical drama 12th Fail, starring Vikrant Massey and Medha Shankar in the lead roles. Through a series of Instagram stories, Kangana expressed her admiration for the movie and actor Vikrant, suggesting that he might “fill the void left by Irrfan Khan.”

However, her remarks may not be well-received by the public, as she has portrayed herself as a victim, citing her inability to succeed in competitive exams due to reservations.

“What a terrific film… coming from hindi medium myself, belonging to a rural village and being a general caste student for entry tests without reservations in my school years, I was weeping through out the film. Ufff, never cried so much in a flight; my co passengers were stealing concerned glances at me. I am embarrassed,” she wrote.

Kangana also shared pictures of Manoj Kumar Sharma IPS and his wife Shraddha Joshi IRS.

“Vidhu sir has won my heart all over again. Vikrant Massey is beyond amazing!! In his coming years he might just fill the void Irffan Khan saab left behind… salutations to your talent dear one,” she noted.

“IPS Manoj Kumar Sharma and his wife IRS Shraddha Joshi’s unbelievable love story is a must-watch,” she added while sharing pictures of the two civil servants.

However, it may be recalled that Kangana had previously made distasteful remarks about Vikrant. In 2021, following a lighthearted comment from the 12th Fail actor who playfully referred to his friend and Himachali actor Yami Gautam as “Radhe Maa” in one of her wedding pictures, Kangana, also a Himachali, expressed annoyance and called him a “cockroach”, Hindustan Times reported.

After Yami shared photos of her all-red bridal look, Vikrant commented, “Pure and pious like Radhe Maa”. An offended Kangana responded, “Kahan se nikla ye cockroach. Laao meri chappal (Where did this cockroach come from, bring my slippers),” HT quoted her as commenting.

Responding to this, Vikrant told Bollywood Bubble later, “I really don’t pay attention to all these things. I try to very consciously negate toxicity in my life. That’s why I don’t go to Twitter much and I have been very vocal about it. That is one of the worst public discourse platforms that we have. But individually, I generally don’t tend to pay attention to these things. So, to wrap it up I will quietly quote one of my favorite writers Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius. You really pray for the ignorant. The only thing you can do for the ignorant and unaware is to pray for better sense and wish them the best in life.”

Previously, Kangana had also applauded Atlee Kumar’s Jawan and commended Shah Rukh Khan for his reinvention at the age of 57. Sharing a poster of Jawan, Kangana wrote on Instagram, “From being the ultimate lover boy of the nineties to a decade long struggle again to reinvent his connection with his audience in his late forties to mid-fifties and ultimately rising as the quintessential Indian mass superhero at the age of 60 (almost) Is nothing short of superheroic even in real life.”

“I remember the time when people wrote him off and mocked his choices, but his struggle is a master class for all those artists who enjoying long careers but must reinvent and reestablish. SRK is the cinema God that India needs not just for hugs or dimples but for some serious world-saving as well Bowing down to your perseverance, hard work and humility King Khan. @iamsrk #Jawan,” she added.
