Aamir Khan ADMITS he made “many mistakes” in Laal Singh Chaddha: “I’ve taken time to absorb the grief”

BDC News

Actor Aamir Khan recently opened up about the box office failure of his 2022 film, Laal Singh Chaddha. While the film, an adaptation of the beloved Hollywood classic Forrest Gump, received mixed reviews and did not resonate with audiences, Khan took responsibility for its shortcomings.

In a candid interview with ABP News, Khan asserted, “Advait, Kareena, and the whole cast and crew worked hard and it didn’t do well. Two things happened, after a long time my film didn’t work, so family and friends would come home to ask me if I was doing okay. I realized that I was getting a lot of love after a flop.

Aamir further added, “That was the funny side of it. The serious side is, that failure teaches you where you’ve made mistakes. It allows you to understand what those mistakes were.”Explaining his take further, Aamir said, “I gave it a lot of thought. It was a big learning for me. I remember telling Kiran once, ‘I made so many mistakes in this film on so many levels. Thank God I made these mistakes in just one film.’ Emotionally, I’m hurt that the film has not worked. I’ve taken time to absorb the grief.”

For the unversed, released in 2022, Laal Singh Chadha marked the return of Aamir after a four-year-long hiatus. Jointly produced by Paramount Pictures, Aamir Khan Productions, and Viacom18 Studios, it also starred Kareena Kapoor Khan, Naga Chaitanya, Mona Singh, and Manav Vij. Post its release, Aamir did not announce any of his upcoming acting projects. Meanwhile, he did a cameo in Kajol’s Salaam Venky.
